1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding contract between you ("User", "you", "your") and the operator of FinLitPath ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the FinLitPath platform at any URL at which it is made available (the "Platform"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Contract formation at registration When you create an account, you will be asked to tick a checkbox confirming that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. That checkbox must be ticked (and will never be pre-ticked on your behalf). Ticking it constitutes your electronic acceptance of these Terms. We record the date and version of the Terms you accepted.

If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and these Terms apply to the organisation as well as you personally.

Effective date: These Terms are effective from 26 April 2026. Prior versions are available on request.

3. Nature of Service

FinLitPath is a financial literacy and education platform designed to help individuals — particularly young adults — improve their understanding of personal finance through interactive tools, educational content, and structured learning modules.

The Platform offers:

This is not regulated financial advice. FinLitPath is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The Services do not constitute, and must not be treated as, regulated financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or any other form of professional advice within the meaning of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA 2000). See Section 7 for the full financial services disclaimer.

4. Eligibility & Age Requirements

To create an Account and use the Services, you must:

Users under 18 — parental guidance advised. While users aged 13 and over may register, the financial tools and content on this Platform relate to adult financial products (savings accounts, investments, budgeting). Users under 18 are strongly advised to seek guidance from a parent or guardian before acting on any information presented on the Platform. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

By registering, you represent and warrant that the date of birth you provide is accurate. Providing a false date of birth to circumvent the age restriction is a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension.

If you become aware that a user under 13 has created an account, please contact us at enquiriesFLP@outlook.com so we can take appropriate action.

5. User Obligations & Acceptable Use

5.1 Accurate Information

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an Account and when using the Services. You are responsible for keeping your Account information up to date. Financial Information you enter (income, expenses, savings, goals) is used only to generate your personalised outputs; it is your responsibility to ensure the figures you enter are accurate.

5.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your Account. You must notify us immediately at enquiriesFLP@outlook.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your Account.

5.3 Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

5.4 One Account per Person

You may only hold one Account per person. Creating multiple accounts to exploit the referral programme or other features constitutes a breach of these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Platform and all Content — including the FinLitPath name, logo, design, source code, educational materials, glossary content, and compilation of data — are owned by or licensed to the Operator and are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws of England and Wales and international treaties.

Copyright © 2026 Godwin Saiju Dominic. All rights reserved.

6.2 Licence to You

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform and Content for your own personal, non-commercial educational purposes, subject to these Terms. This licence does not include any right to:

6.3 Your Financial Information

Any Financial Information you input into the Platform remains yours. We do not claim ownership of it. We process it solely to deliver the Services to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

6.4 Third-Party Content

The Platform displays content sourced from third parties (financial news, savings rate data). Such content remains the intellectual property of the respective third-party owners. We aggregate it under fair use / data licensing provisions; any further reproduction is prohibited.

7. Financial Services Disclaimer

Read this section carefully — it limits our legal liability for financial outcomes.

7.1 Not Regulated Financial Advice

FinLitPath is a financial literacy platform. It is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA 2000) to provide regulated financial advice, investment advice, mortgage advice, insurance advice, or any other form of regulated financial services.

Specifically:

7.2 Seek Independent Advice

Before making any financial decision — including but not limited to opening a savings account, making an investment, taking out a loan or mortgage, changing insurance cover, or altering your pension contributions — you should seek advice from a suitably qualified, FCA-authorised financial adviser. You can find a regulated adviser at www.fca.org.uk or through services such as MoneyHelper (www.moneyhelper.org.uk), which is sponsored by HM Government.

7.3 No Endorsement of Financial Products

The display of savings rates, financial products, or third-party services on the Platform does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or comparison for the purposes of the Consumer Duty (FCA PS22/9). We are not an FCA-regulated comparison service.

7.4 Referral Programme

The FinLitPath referral programme awards in-Platform reward points (not monetary value) for referring new users. These points have no monetary value outside the Platform and do not constitute a financial instrument, security, or investment of any kind.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

8.1 "As Is" Service

The Platform and all Content are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including (without limitation) implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

8.2 No Warranty of Accuracy

We do not warrant that:

8.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (including the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015), our total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms or your use of the Platform — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — shall not exceed £50 (fifty pounds sterling) in any 12-month period.

We shall not be liable for:

8.4 Consumer Rights Reservation

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Operator from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

This indemnity obligation survives the termination or expiry of these Terms and your Account.

10. Account Termination

10.1 Termination by You

You may delete your Account at any time via the Account Settings page. Deletion is permanent and immediate. Upon deletion, all your personal data (budget plans, goals, scores, leaderboard entries, watchlist items, referral records) is permanently erased from our systems and from the authentication provider (Supabase). This action cannot be undone. Please see our Privacy Policy for details of data that may be retained for legal compliance purposes after deletion.

10.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your Account immediately, without notice, if:

10.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination (by you or by us), your licence to use the Platform immediately ceases. Sections 6 (Intellectual Property), 7 (Financial Services Disclaimer), 8 (Limitation of Liability), 9 (Indemnification), 13 (Governing Law), and 15 (General Provisions) survive termination.

11. Third-Party Links & Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content (including financial news sources, savings rate aggregators, and external financial institutions). These links are provided for your convenience and information only.

We do not:

Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and conditions and privacy policies. You access them at your own risk.

The Platform is built using third-party infrastructure providers (Supabase, Neon, Netlify). Our use of these providers is governed by our respective data processing agreements with them. Details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

Your continued use of the Platform after any changes have been notified constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the Platform and delete your Account.

For significant changes (e.g. changes to your rights, the nature of the service, or data processing practices), we will give at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

Subject to Section 14, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter or formation.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your jurisdiction of residence. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also have rights under the law of the EU Member State in which you are habitually resident.

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Good Faith Negotiation

Before commencing any formal legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally. You should send a written description of your complaint to enquiriesFLP@outlook.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and attempt to resolve it within 30 calendar days.

14.2 Alternative Dispute Resolution

If informal resolution fails, you may use an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme. We are willing to consider mediation as an alternative to litigation. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ for EU residents.

14.3 Consumer Rights

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your right to take a claim to the courts of England and Wales.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15.2 Waiver

No failure or delay by us to exercise any right or remedy under these Terms shall constitute a waiver of that right or remedy. A waiver of any breach shall not be construed as a waiver of any subsequent breach.

15.3 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the Platform and supersede all prior representations, agreements, or understandings.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to a successor entity without restriction.

15.5 Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance of our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, pandemic, government action, technical failure of third-party infrastructure, or internet disruption.

15.6 Notices

Any notice from you to us under these Terms must be sent to enquiriesFLP@outlook.com. We may send notices to the email address registered to your Account.
